The Nook

Had dinner with friends here recently. Great little place. Number one for me was the value. For what my wife and I got, it was a great value. Half rack of ribs were tender with great flavor and with the added spicy barbecue they were just right. Baked beans had chunks of brisket an weren't too sweet, very enjoyable. Onion rings seem to be hand breaded with a nice crunch. I had to try the mango jalapeño cheesecake and it did not disappoint... don't be scared of it. It's not spicy at all, but is more about the unique combination. Bartender was very nice with a great smile. Our sever was very friendly with great recommendations and kept her cool the entire visit even though she was very busy with a packed house. My only knock is the almost non existent lighting in the parking lot. In the evening it is super dark out! I do recommend this place. Food was great, drinks were made well, service was fantastic, and pricing was better than fair. Enjoy it!

We had a great time here! The food tastes unique. We ordered onion rings, fish, ribs, salmon, beans, cornbread, and coleslaw. The salmon stood out - super yummy! The ribs were tasty, and the spicy sauce had a fruity kick, maybe peach or apricot. Not sure, forgot to check with the waitress. Beans, cornbread, and coleslaw were nice. The Cod was a bit too crispy and wet inside. The people serving us were friendly. We'll definitely come again!

We were told about a restaurant called The Nook .. so you know we had to check it out .. And OhMyGosh .. I am so happy that we did .. the food was absolutely amazing .. we got the dry breaded wings with garlic parmesan sauce and a spicy buffalo sauce .. they have a variety of sauces to choose from and options of breaded or not, tossed in sauce or not. The onion ring tower is terrific. Onions are sliced just to the right size, and breaded in goodness and fried to the ideal crunch, and comes with a boom boom sauce and a ranch dipping sauce. Johnnie is a St Louis style ribs fanatic .. and the rids here are the best ribs he's had since we moved to Ohio, and that was in 2013. They are cooked to absolute perfection and full of flavor, and the brisket was beyond delicious. The corned beef reubin was fantastic .. I am very picky about my corned beef, and I loved this sandwich. None of the meat had a heavy smoke taste .. I really didn't taste it at all .. I was so full we brought dessert home. White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake .. YUMMY, oh so good. Our server Kerri was terrific. She answered all our questions and helped with suggestions. The manager, Bruce, was a pleasure to meet and chat with. When he's not in the kitchen creating a new sauce or a new dish idea you'll find him in the dining room seating and greeting customers. Bruce is also a artist, so you might find him sketching a portrait. We give The Nook a 10/10 on every level there is .. We are looking forward to going back, very soon.

The Nook/Up in Smoke has become my (local) fave!!!! Whether dine in or take out, their food is always delicious!! My cousin, also a local, had passed it too many times to count. She loves it and plans to bring her family when they come to visit. Both meals were absolutely amazing! When asked if we wanted dessert my cousin declined until it was suggested splitting a peice of Cheesecake....the rest is history!!!! 😁😋🤩😍 Staff is very friendly and service is top notch!!!!

We went to The Nook to celebrate my father's birthday, it was an amazing experience! There were 13 people in our party and everyone of them loved their meals! We ordered practically every dish on the menu, between all of us! My parents ordered ribs and they were amazing! My husband and I got pulled pork and it was delicious! Two people ordered steaks and they were tender, delicious, and perfectly cooked! One person got prime rib, and it was the biggest piece of meat that I have ever seen! He loved it! A few people ordered pulled chicken sandwiches and they were phenomenal! The kids got chicken fingers, and said they were the best! And some people ordered half a chicken and said it was tender, juicy, and delicious! The service was outstanding! The owner even came to the table for a visit! 5 Stars! I highly recommend The Nook!
